Our scapulas (shoulder blades) move opposite then our lungs with respiration. The lungs expand, the bottoms going down with diaphragm and the tops being pulled laterally and rotating posterior. The scapulas move down and laterally with their top inner edge opening down and away from the clavicle. the scapulas indirectly massage the lungs and are also the top 1/2 of the shoulder joint.
